Usage Edit

You must use one of these two (2) formats:

  1. {{Date|YYYYMMDD }}
    YYYY
    The four digit year (Required)
    MM
    The two digit month (Required)
    DD
    The two digit day of the month (Required)
  2. {{Date|MMMM D, YYYY }}
    MMMM
    The FULL month name (Required)
    D
    The one digit day of the month (Required)
    YYYY
    The four digit year (Required)
  3. {{Date|MMMM DD, YYYY }}
    MMMM
    The FULL month name (Required)
    DD
    The two digit day of the month (Required)
    YYYY
    The four digit year (Required)

Date formatting Edit

Dates have to be formatted year, month, date; zero-padded, no punctuation.  If you did it right, you should have a total of eight digits.  The New Year's Day 2007 (Gregorian Calendar) would be formatted as 20070101, for example.

Comparison and understanding Edit

Today is Sunday, October 20, 2019 (for single digit days)
OR
Today is Sunday, October 20, 2019 (for double digit days).

In the US, this would be:
10/20/2019 (for single digit days)
OR
10/20/2019 (for double digit days)

In the majority of the world, this would be:
20/10/2019 (for single digit days)
OR
20/10/2019 (for double digit days)

Formatted correctly for the template, it would be:
20191020
OR
October 20, 2019 (for single digit days)
OR
October 20, 2019 (for double digit days)

Examples Edit

  1. Date format = YYYY (4 digit Year) MM (2 digit Month) DD (2 digit Day)
    {{Date|19700304 }} produces March 04, 1970
    {{Date|20100101 }} produces January 01, 2010
    {{Date|20251225 }} produces December 25, 2025
  2. Date format = MMMM (Full Month name) D (1 digit Day), YYYY (4 digit Year)
    {{Date|March 4, 1970 }} produces March 04, 1970
    {{Date|January 1, 2010 }} produces January 01, 2010
  3. Date format = MMMM (Full Month name) DD (2 digit Day), YYYY (4 digit Year)
    {{Date|March 04, 1970 }} produces March 04, 1970
    {{Date|January 01, 2010 }} produces January 01, 2010
    {{Date|December 25, 2025 }} produces December 25, 2025
