Description

Sword fighters are usually barely armoured and fight without shields to retain their mobility. Thus they can circulate around the immobile Phalanx formation and attack from the flanks.

• During battle, Swordsmen deploy to the flanks, unless they are needed to fill the front battle line.
• The Mini battlefield has no allowance for flank units, unless of course the garrison limit is reached, in which case you should refer to the Big battlefield size below.
• 30 Swordsmen fill the flank space of the Small, Medium, and Large battlefields. The Small, Medium, and Large battlefields have 2, 4, and 6 flank spaces, respectively, allowing for 60, 120, and 180 on the field for those sizes of fields.
• 40 Swordsmen fill the flank space of the Big battlefield, and there are 6 spaces, allowing for 240 on the field.

Flanks → Long-range weapons battle line → Artillery → Front battle line
